Mediterranean Cheese and Wines is a three-year project (2019-2022) sponsored by Samos Wine Cooperative (EOS Samos – Greece), Association of Agricultural Cooperatives of Naxos (Greece) and Enoteca Regionale dell’Emilia-Romagna.
The project targets Italy, France, Germany and Greece and aims to raise the awareness and recognition of Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) products, in particular of the Samos PDO wines, of the Graviera Naxou PDO cheese and of the PDO wines of the Emilia-Romagna region.
For the Mediterranean Cheese and Wines campaign, SG Project has developed, for the four target countries, show cooking events for influencers and the press, specialized press tour and press office activities, participation in international trade fairs, consumer tasting events, digital adv campaigns; it has provided website and social mediapages development and management, project management and technical support, risk assessment and management during the COVID-19 crisis and implementation of alternative solutions.

The Mediterranean Cheese and Wines project has participated, with a dedicated booth, in leading industry trade fairs and events such as Prowein in Düsseldorf, Vinitaly in Verona and Enologica in Bologna.
Press event, Naxos island, Greece
An event dedicated to trade press journalists, with show cooking and tasting of the Greek products included in the project. The participants received first-hand information on the history of the products and their characteristics from representatives of the cooperatives EAS NAXOS and EOS SAMOS present at the event.
Events for consumers
In order to engage consumers and present to them the Emilia-Romagna PDO wines, the Samos PDO wines and the Groviera Naxou cheese, we organized a broad range of activities, including on-site promotions at Italian and foreign large-scale retail stores and tastings at Wine Merchants in Italy and Germany.
The website of Mediterranean Cheese and Wines provides exhaustive information in 5 languages on the products, the project and the characteristics of PDO and PGI products.
We also provided social media communication (via Facebook and Instagram) and a social media Native e Programmatic adv campaign in the target countries in order to generate visits and views of the project’s website and the related social networks.
In order to show to consumers how to use the products and populate the website and social media channels with interesting contents, we created recipes and video-recipes with the Greek PDO Graviera Naxou cheese.
